Plastic Futures draws the attention away from the pandemic and towards the effects of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It specifically focuses on the fatal effect of involuntary plastic consumption by its marine life.

The outcome is a series of three videos; each video starts off with a news broadcast, where the topic in discussion is the coronavirus. This broadcast gets interrupted by an "Emergency broadcast system", the immediate clip after that is of a girl from the year 2030, about to eat at a restaurant called Plastic Futures. Unbeknownst to her, all the food which is being served is riddled with plastic.

The innocence and naivety of the young girl, as she blindly consumes all the food, prompts the viewer to garner sympathy towards the fatal scenario. This further sparks the viewer to take a step back and recognise the importance of reducing plastic consumption, through drawing parallels between the helplessness of the child, to the helplessness of marine life.

Below are the three videos; the first one takes you through the first course, the second through the second course, and the third through the last course which ends with an "open-to-interpretation" climax.

A secondary outcome is a printed menu card from the Plastic Futures Restaurant, which mildly foreshadows the fate of the customer who is to order the food.
